Steve Beigbeder

Steve Beigbeder is a consultant specializing in Workers’ Compensation, absence and disability management. He has over nineteen years experience consulting to Fortune 500, multi-national and large public entities. Steve recently retired from Deloitte Consulting LLP after joining the firm in 1996 as the National Practice Leader for Disability Management Services. Prior to joining Deloitte, Steve spent three years as a managing consultant for Travelers Insurance and two years as a project manager for Lynch Ryan, a boutique Workers’ Compensation consulting firm headquartered in Massachusetts. Before embarking on a consulting career Steve spent six years as a corporate Human Resource Director for a regional hospitality business chain with six restaurants and two hotels. Serving the public and private sectors, in employer, payer and provider settings, Steve has extensive experience in leading client engagements to control disability costs, enhance benefit delivery systems and improve claim outcomes.

Steve has lectured extensively to employer groups and written numerous articles on best practices for managing disability. He’s been published in Business Insurance, Employee Benefits News, Workers’ Compensation Managed Care, Risk & Insurance, the Journal of Workers’ Compensation and Controller magazines. He has been a featured speaker at several RIMS’ national conferences, the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference, Public Risk & Insurance Management Association and NY Self-Insurers’ Association seminars, and national conferences sponsored by the World Research Group and the Institute of International Research.

Steve holds a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and Human Resource Management certification from Bentley University. Steve served nine years as a member of the Board of Directors for the NY Claims Association, was a 2-year member of the Advisory Board for Business Insurance’s National Disability Management Conference, and was an 11-year Member of a municipal Personnel Board responsible for labor relations, benefit plan design and funding, and human resource management. Steve consults primarily to large, self-insured employers and counts many recognizable organizations among his serviced clients.

Throughout Steve’s nineteen plus years in Workers’ Compensation and disability claims consulting he has provided program assessment, strategic counseling, best practice research, information system selection and implementation, and cost containment program development to Fortune 500 and large governmental entities.
