Robert Lynch co-founded NSRC in 2010 after 37 years of Claims Management and Risk Management experience with commercial insurers and public sector employers, as well as P&C Claims and Risk Management consulting experience with both private and public sector clients. In the 10 years since founding NSRC, he has additionally provided consulting acumen in the areas of Insurance data systems technology, data integrity, public transportation safety programs, business resilience program development/auditing and actuarial support activities.  He is a licensed Risk Management Consultant (New York State) and a retired Army Colonel having spent 30 years on active and reserve duty.

 

His experience includes:

  • Conducting risk and claims management program and business process reviews for a broad array of public and private commercial clients, including commercial insurance companies, third-party claims administrators, state and local public entities and authorities and self-insured/self-administered private clients
  • Advising buyer-side public and private clients in the preparation of RFPs in writing the scope of work portion for insurance programs and claims management services for self-insured clients or client with high self-insured retentions. Assisted in the preparation, receipt, scoring and result compilation of RFP proposals for public and private clients
  • Performing claims reserving practices and quality control programs to determine if the reserve amounts allocated to claims files are sufficient and accurate to represent expected final cost settlement. He also reviewed files for those clients to ensure proper payments are accurately calculated and promptly paid in compliance with state and/or local regulations, collective bargaining agreements, HR programs and policies, fraud detection/investigation and other insurance industry claims leading practices
  • Providing data quality assessment and report compilation assistance in support of actuarial IBNR analyses for FASB and GASB annual reporting
  • Identifying and recommending policies and programs for the clients to recover loss payments through subrogation, restitution or identity of additional responsible parties
  • Conducting business resilience program auditing
  • Developing claims and insurance performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor claims management and loss control program results and improvement. He also designed and collected/verified data for benchmarking reports and analysis for many clients
  • Assisting public and private clients in the design and preparation of an annual Cost of Risk (COR) for presentation to senior management and Boards of Directors
  • Assisting in the preparation, documentation and monitoring of loss prevention and cost containment recommendations for both public and private clients, specializing in the area of litigation management and cost controls
